Senate keeps Amaechi waiting

Again the Senate has failed to screen former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi whose name had appeared within the first record of ministerial nominees.

The lack of ability to screen him with 18 others last week was to permit the Committee on Ethics and Privileges conclude investigation on petitions introduced against Amaechi by the of senators from his state.

Nothing was heard from the committee which claimed to have accomplished investigation and had promised to table the record on the ground of the Senate for debate.

therefore, only Adebayo Shittu and Khadijah Abba Ibrahim, a 3-term member of house of Representatives and wife of a former governor of Yobe State, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, were puzzled through the senators.

The plenary which had been expected to proceed at present was once postponed to the following day, a decision that got here four hours after the higher Chamber had formally adjourned.
