The corruption scandal rocking the phrase football governing body, FIFA, took a different twist on Friday as Swiss authorities introduced criminal court cases against the body’s outgoing president, Sepp Blatter.
Mr. Blatter was once questioned on Friday and his places of work had been searched as a part of criminal probe into suspected misappropriation of cash, the office of Switzerland’s prime prosecutor has said.
Mr. Blatter is being probed regardless of his choice to ultimately quit his role as the world’s football chief.
“On 25th September 2015, representatives of the OAG (office of the Attorney General) interrogated the defendant Joseph Blatter,” Swiss authorities said in a statement, adding that its workers had also carried out “a condominium search at Fifa Headquarters with the help of the Federal criminal Police”.
